The rivers Dalsá and Tungudalsá are nice rain-fed rivers in Fáskrúðsfjörður. Their source is barely 1000 m high in the moorlands above Fáskrúðsfjörður and they run through the valleys on either side of Suðurfjall. Dalsá is the bigger river and the highway from the Fáskrúðsfjörður tunnel runs along it for the most part. Tungudalsá, on the other hand, is in an untouched and beautiful green environment with no road alongside. The char in Dalsá are a similar size to fish in rivers in nearby fjords, mostly one up to one and a half pounds. However, every summer fish around and over 3 pounds are caught, along with a few salmon. Tungudalsá changes considerably from year to year because of high winter flows but there are good fishing spots that seem to stay from year to year and there are char of around the same size as in Dalsá.
