Description
River Eldvatn on Brunasandur originates in Eldvatnsbotnar eystri in Brunahraun. It flows in several “kvíslar” below the lava, then emerges and flows into Hverfisfljót. In the river are mainly sea-run char, but also sea trout in the spring and autumn. Salmon are also occasionally caught. The main char area is above the farm Teygingarlækur, and below it a few salmon are often caught. Sea trout fishing is mainly at the confluence of the Hverfisfljót river, where large char up to 8-9 pounds are also caught.

Fishing cabin
The fishing cabin stands by East Eldvatnsbotnar, about 15 km from Kirkjubæjarklaustur. There is electricity in the house, which is about 42 m². It has a kitchen, a lounge with a TV and one large bedroom with bunk beds for eight people. A bathroom and a shower are in a small hut by the fishing cabin and there is also a sleeping space for 2 more. Anglers must bring their own bedding and toiletries.
