River Flekkudalsá is a 20 km long river that has its source in the highlands, in Klofningar-mountains range, and falls into the sea at Hvammfjörður. Many say that the river is the most beautiful salmon river in Dalasýsla. It’s an early-season salmon river where the main catch is small salmon, though certainly some bigger ones are landed each summer. Some trout fishing is in the river as well. The average catch in recent years is 220 salmon each summer. The river is fished 2 days at a time, from noon to noon, except the first days of season when it’s fished from the morning of July 1st to noon on July 3rd.
