What can be fished

Description

Seleyri is a fishing area below the bridge of Borgarfjörður and is therefore considered as coastal fishing. A considerable number of sea trout and arctic char migrate into Seleyri and also salmon on their way to all the well-known salmon rivers that fall into Hvítá. The average size of sea trout is 1.5 – 3lbs and the size of the char is similar. Due to the poor condition of the arctic char stocks, the SVFB board reminds anglers of the requirement that all char caught in Seleyri shall be released. Also, the board encourages moderate fishing of sea trout.
