Kringluvatn is in Suður-Þingeyjarsýsla and is approx. 0.6 km² in size and at almost 270 m above sea level. The river Geitafellsá falls from the lake and into Lake Langavatn. The maximum depth is about 12 m. Both brown trout and Arctic char are in the lake, the char are mostly small, but a considerable number of good brown trout are caught, especially by ice-fishing which is practiced in the lake. The best fishing time is usually early in the morning and late in the day. It is best to get to Kringluvatn from Kísilvegurinn (no. 87) between Húsavík and Mývatn, along a trail to the lake. A lot of net fishing has been done in the lake in recent years with good results and the char are recovering.
