This is a relatively new fishing area located on the east bank of river Ölfusá, in the land of Laugardælir and the golf course of Selfoss. In the spring, the fishing is mainly for sea trout and some Arctic char as well. Salmon begin migrating through the area in mid-June, with their numbers increasing upon their arrival in July. All the salmon, including those from Sogið, Stóra Laxá and Tungufljót, that are migrating upstream pass through this area. Sea trout rerurn in the autumn and can be fished until October. The fishing area is diverse and offers ample opportunities, with a long bank suitable for just two rods. It is possible to do some serious fishing here. On average, anglers catch around 2-6 fish per day, but some have landed up to a dozen fish.
