Tannastaðatangi is where River Sogið and River Hvítá come together and form the River Ölfusá. These are the lowest fishing beats on the west side of Sogið. The fishing is mainly out on the spit on the border of the glacier-water and freshwater. Fly fishing is the best technique here. The fishing is volatile, as in many other parts of the river. Arctic char can be caugth there in spring and permits are available from April 1st to June 10th.
