At the bottom of Stöðvarfjörður, the next fjord south of Fáskrúðsfjörður, Stöðvará runs into the sea through a beautiful estuary. It is not a big river, but it is fishable for 5 km from the sea. Arctic charr are usually expected in the lower river until August, after which they move upstream. The fishing rights are divided between two farms, Stöð and Óseyri, and fishing is allowed in the land of Óseyri.
