West-Friðmundarvatn is on Auðkúluheiði at 440 m above sea level and its area is 5.1 km². It is a rather shallow water, with a maximum depth of just over 2 meters. There are good, big fish in the lake, including char that can grow up to four pounds. Angling is best in the first part of summer, but then the fishing decreases following the growth of weed in the lake. Then the best method is fly fishing near the surface.
