Brown Trout

Description

Stangaveiðifélag Reykjavíkur has in recent years made it possible for their members to recover from the non-fishing chills by offering enjoyable brown trout spring fishing. This option has been well utilized by members and the fishing is normally good. The biota of the river is diverse and the local trout stock is strong. Anglers are asked to keep the area clean and be careful close to nesting areas of birds.

Fishing rules

If fishing buddies do not lease both the rods, anglers need to divide the area between them. The fishing manager has made a suggestion of division, but anglers need to arrive at a specified time to pick out an area. The manager will contact everyone in advance, but anglers who have bought a license at short notice are asked to contact the office of SVFR or the fishing manager outside office hours ( t: 00-354-8929252).

Directions

The fishing area extends from Höfuðhyl to Hraun. The best fishing is in the upper part of Elliðaá and Ármótin and Höfuðhylur are the most productive pools. Note that it is not allowed to fish closer to Elliðavatnsstífla than 50 meters.
