What can be fished

Description

Krókavatn is 2 km northeast of Lagarfoss Power Station in Hjaltastaðaþinghá in Hérað. It is 0.33 km², its maximum depth is 15 m, and it is 30 m above sea level. The lake has brown trout, nice fish and it is not uncommon to catch fish around 4-5 pounds. The most common size, however, is 2-3 pounds. There is drainage from Krókavatn to Lagarfljót through a small stream. The best fishing is usually in the spring and early June. To get to Krókavatn it is best to drive road 944 to the town of Ekra, from where it is about a 20-minute walk to the lake.
