What can be fished

Description

Lake Botnsvatn belongs to Húsavík in S-Þingeyjarsýsla and is a short distance southeast of the town. It is 1.05 km² in area and at 130 m above sea level. Búðará flows from the lake through Húsavík and into the sea. There are a lot of char in the lake, rather small, but quite good. There is a good road to the lake and partly along it. The surroundings of the lake are pleasant and there is a good 5 km walking path around it. To the southwest is an overgrown heath but on the other side there are mountains down to the water level. This is a very family-friendly lake. Net fishing the lake would probably help to keep the stock in balance.
