Description

The Laugardalshólar fishing beat in Hólaá is about 5 km long. Both char and trout can be caught there, although more char. It is only allowed to fish on the north side of the river, or on the side of the river where the farm Laugardalshólar stands. Just below the trail to Laugardalshólar is a car park where anglers can park and walk down to the river. Good fishing spots are right in front of the car park and over the years, people have had good fishing in the area both above and below the car park. Fly fishing has been successful in recent years, and it is great fun to use dry fly when conditions allow it. This is a popular and family-friendly fishing area, close to the capital.

Fishing rules

People are asked to be tidy at the beat and fish moderately. Anglers are asked to print out the fishing permit and leave it on the dashboard in their cars when they go fishing, so that the fishing guard can monitor. There is a fishing book in a box at the parking lot and people are asked to record all catches there.
