What can be fished

Description

Lake Hörtnárvatn is in the land of Kelduvík on Skagaheiði, but licenses are sold at the farm Hraun. It is 0.34 km² in area, 14 m above sea level and in a short distance from the main road. In Hörtnárvatn there are both brown trout and Arctic char and it is often possible to get quite nice fish. There is good brown trout fishing in a bay on the north side, with most char caught on the south side where the river Nesá flows into the lake and river Hörtná flows out of it. It’s worth trying the rivers too, as there are both char and trout, often good fish. There is a better discussion about the river Nesá here elsewhere on the web.
