River Kelduá is a rain fed river in Fljótdalshreppi in North-Múlasýsla. The source is in Lake Kelduárvatn by Geldingafell, east of glacier Eyjabakkajökull. The river first flows through moorlands and then through Suðurdalur on its way to Lagarfljót. In Kelduá there are good numbers of brown trout, which are usually rather small. At one time fishing was mainly for char but they have mostly gone. There are several good quality fishing spots in Kelduá. The top one is underneath a waterfall, which is not passable, called Faxahylur. Below the farm Víðivellir is a big pool that is called Hrakhamarshylur. It is considered one of the most promising fishing spots in the river. At the confluence of the river Kelduá and Jökulsá in Fljótsdalur is Ferjuhylur, a good fishing spot.
