Presthólalón “lagoon” is below the main road, close to Kópasker. This is a large sea lagoon and its height above sea level is only 1 m and the estimated area is about 0.36 km². There are decent char in it, one to two pounds, and it is considered a good place to fish for food. It is not apparent that Preshólalón is connected to the sea, but it is believed that water flows through underground streams to the sea, which explains the existence of sea-run char in the lagoon. Fishing has been practiced by residents of Kópasker, its surroundings and by tourists. Fishing licenses in Presthólalónl do include licenses to fish in Klapparós, which is a short distance north of the lagoon. There, sea-run char migrates through a large river that flows into the sea.
