What can be fished

Description

River Svartá is a medium size rain fed river with a 480 km catchment. A joint fishing club leases both River Svartá and River Blanda. Svartá is pleasantly varied to the extent that in addition to the traditional riffles and runs it stretches out into Blanda itself, where there can often be fun during the migration time. Anglers can go from using light one-handed rods, in the clear water in the upper river, to two-handed rods at the river confluence with the Blanda. The salmon in river Svartá are known to be extremely strong and there are often huge salmon caught. The salmon of the Svartá stock must migrate up half of Blanda to get to their spawning ground in river Svartá. A minimum of two and two rods are sold together, one or more days at a time.
