What can be fished

Description

Svörtuklettar are in the land of Heiðarbær 2 by the northwestern part of Lake Þingvallavatn. River Móakotsá has an estuary in the area and the brown trout often seeks the estuary for digestion and in search of food. The area is known for large brown trout, and they travel in groups along the coast. The fishing can change a lot in an instant when a group like that enters the area. Out of Svörtuklettar it’s possible to wade far out on a lava rock. At the far end of the lava rock is an edge that trout often swim along. The bay has a sandy and gravel bottom and possible to wade through it all in a search of fish. The best time of the day is in the evening.

Directions

The fishing area starts just below the boathouse, from where the river Móakotsá flows into the lake, and reaches beyond Svörtuklettar.
