These are two 2-rod fishing areas, Þorsteinsvík and Ölfusvatnsós. The day is divided into two parts and people fish for half a day in each area.
Þorsteinsvík: Take a trail to the farm Nesjar and drive along the driveway. When there is about 300-400 meters to the farm, turn right on the only trail that lies to the right. That trail runs straight down to Þorsteinsvík. Anglers can park their cars on the sandy beach. The bay is divided into two, on weekdays all the bay follows the ION fishing area, but on weekends its southern part is not included. It is on the side that is driven to Þorsteinsvík, sand dunes in the middle of the bay separate the fishing areas.
Ölfusvatnsós: When driving to Ölfusvatnsós, take Grafningsvegur (road 360), to Ljósafossvirkjun. From there, turn off the road by Ölfuvatnsá and park the car in a small parking at the end of the trail. From there people walk down to Ölfusvatnsós. The fishing area extends from the fence just north of the estuary to the fence by river Villingavatnsá. The brown trout can lie close to shore in bad weather.
