Tungnaá is a glacial river but has been clear since it was harnessed for hydro power in 2014. This is a rather small river, and its surroundings are special, as it flows crystal clear down a magnificent glacial channel. In the river are resident Arctic char that can grow up to 10 pounds. The average weight is about 3 pounds, and it is not uncommon to get 5–6-pound fish. Resident brown trout can also be found in the river. Fishing in Tungnaá can be great fun, a lot of fishing is with nymphs or dry flies.
