Description
River Tungufljót gave at its best over 2800 salmon, in 2008 when releases of smolts were effective. Now the breeding effort in the river has been put back into full swing and better catches can be expected in the coming years. Despite no smolt releases, many anglers were getting good catches from the river in 2014 and the catch included three fish over 20 pounds. While Tungufljót is regaining its strength, fishing permits will be moderately priced and it is therefore possible to make a very good deal.

Daily fishing hours: From June 24th – August 20th, 7:00-13:00 and 16:00-22:00. From August 20th – September 19th the second shift is from 15:00 – 21:00. From September 20th – October 1st the fishing is from 8:00- 20:00.
