Laxá í Dölum is one of the best salmon rivers in Iceland and few rivers have a higher average catch per day-rod. This famous pearl has many fans. There is enough space for anglers both by the river and in the fishing lodge by Þrándargil. The river is well suited for those who want to use single handed rods in a productive salmon river, especially if they are interested in the historical sites of the Icelandic sagas. Laxá is known for huge catches in a wet season. Only fly fishing is allowed during the summer.
