Many of the best-known rivers in the country known for their Arctic charr runs had high water levels well into the summer. As a result, fishing season started late, and the catch from these rivers remains relatively low. However, some rivers appear to be more productive than others in these conditions, even if the catch is not significant. Attendance is influenced by popularity, which varies in these rivers.
We conducted a survey on fishing activity in several well-known rivers:
River Eyjafjarðará: 85
River Hörgá: 65
River Fjarðará (Ólafsfjarðará): 225
River Svarfaðardalsá: 131
River Kolka: 161
River Lónsá: 65
River Norðfjarðará: 155
River Bjarnarfjarðará: 56
River Selfljót: 65
