The opening in the Urriðafoss at River Þjórsá is really promising for the continuation of the fishing this summer. Seventeen salmon were caught on this first day in the river and it only took 7 minutes to land the first one this summer.
“We caught 17 salmon in Urriðafoss today which is a good catch,” said Stefán Sigurðsson, the man who has caught the first salmon in the river, for at least the last five years. All the fish were in the range of 80 – 86 cm.
