Description

River Bjarnarfjarðará is a sea-char river in Bjarnarfjörður in Strandir about 35 km east of Hólmavík. The environment of the river is beautiful and offers a varied fishing area. The river is known to have good numbers of sea-run Arctic char and anglers can experience great late summer fishing when the migration is at its peak. A few salmon are also caught in the river each summer. The top fishing spot in the river is Berghylur and all fishing above this point is prohibited.
