Arctic Char

Description

River Bjarnarfjarðará is a sea-char river in Bjarnarfjörður in Strandir about 35 km east of Hólmavík. The environment of the river is beautiful and offers a varied fishing area. The river is known to have good numbers of sea-run Arctic char and anglers can experience great late summer fishing when the migration is at its peak. A few salmon are also caught in the river each summer. The top fishing spot in the river is Berghylur and all fishing above this point is prohibited.

The fishing area extends from the connection of Goðdalsá and Sunnudalsá. It is about 7 km with 25 marked spots. Also, there are 2 rods in Goðdalsá and they are sold togehter expecially.
