What can be fished

Description

The trout section in the River Breiðdalsá has long been very popular and groups are increasingly looking to take the same days year after year. Of course, the weather can be rough in early spring, but the fish are there and they can take aggressively. Also, people love the fishing lodge at Eyjar. The surroundings of Breiðdalsá are spectacular and it is said that people fish in few places that are as beautiful. The lowest part of the trout section in Breiðdalsá holds mainly sea-run char and occasionally sea-trout and salmon. Further up the river, in the valley above the waterfall Beljandi and high up in Norðurdalsá, resident brown trout can be found and high up in Norðurdalsá. The average annual catch is 270 Arctic char and 480 brown trout.
