What can be fished

Description

Currently, most landowners manage their own fishing, and the fishing season and fishing methods are not coordinated. Changes of lease holders and agents are quite common. For a long time this has, for example, been unclear with the three lowest areas. The bottom area is now rented by people who call themselves Sportmenn of Iceland. They say:

“We at Sportmenn of Iceland can offer fishing permits in a fun fishing area, one of which has been closed to the average angler since around 1960. The area is almost only passable by jeep. Through the area migrate several thousand sea trout, this is a demanding fishing area for real anglers”

Directions

Beat 1 – The fishing area is the lowest part of Grenlækur and the confluence where Grenlækur joins the Skaftá in the so-called Veiðiós.
