What can be fished

Description

The modest river Hallá flows gently into the sea right by Skagaströnd. It’s a small river, 16 km long and the fishing area is about 10 km. Hallá is fished with two rods for the whole season. The river has always been popular, both for families and small fishing groups, and many “Maríulaxar”* have been caught from that river. This is an environmentally sensitive river and therefore it is necessary to protect it as much as possible.

Accommodation & Facilities

Angling lodge

The fishing cabin stands on the banks of River Hallá and is included in the price of the permits. Before reaching the river Hallá, on the south side, turn to the right and the fishing cabin is about 300 meters from the road Skagastrandarvegur. It is about 50 m² and accommodates 7 – 8 people in two bedrooms. Anglers need to bring sheets and towels. It is a requirement to record all catches in a logbook that is in the cabin. There is a terrace with a gas grill by the cabin.

Fishing rules

Anglers are asked to use only marked roads and not to drive off road
