What can be fished

Description

By the ring road, a short distance east of Vík in Mýrdalur, is the tourist farm Höfðabrekka. There is fishing in the so-called Höfðabrekkutjörnum, which are 3 in number and right by the ring road. Fish were previously released here, both Arctic char and brown trout. The stock gradually became sustainable and there is a considerable number of fish still there, although releases have been stopped, especially in the largest pond. There is often good fishing in a short time, but then it calms down and there is hardly anything to have for a while. The ponds are rather small but there is a connection between them via small streams.
