What can be fished

Description

There are three lakes in Svínadalur : Lake Eyrarvatn, which the salmon river Laxá in Leirársveit runs out of, then Lake Þórisstaðavatn (or Glammastaðavatn) and finally Lake Geitabergsvatn. In total they cover 3.12 km² with the central lake being the largest. These lakes have both char and brown trout and salmon are occasionally caught as salmon they migrate to the lakes. Fish in the lakes can become quite large and the fishing is consistent throughout the season. To get to the lakes, highway one is driven through Hvalfjörður by Ferstikla. When the hill is reached the lakes can be seen.
