What can be fished

Description

Laxá in Leirársveit is a nice salmon river and has been among the top Icelandic rivers, with the most catches. It has about 70 diverse salmon pools, most of them with good access. The river is extremely convenient for fly fishing. A salmon ladder was built into waterfall Eyrarfoss in 1950 and rebuilt in 1970. This increased salmon migration to the upper part of the river. In Laxá in Leirársveit is one of the most notable/famous salmon pools in Iceland, the amazing Miðfellsfljót.
