What can be fished

Leirá is an entertaining sea trout & salmon river and is suitable for small groups of fishing partners or families that want to have a nice time. The river is rather ‘petite’ and it is important to be stealthy on the riverbank to achieve good results. There are 24 marked fishing spots in the river that all have good access, especially in the lower part of the river. Up to 60 salmon are caught in Leirá annually, which is fair based in a river of that size. In addition to good sea trout fishing in the spring, Arctic char are often caught in the estuary early season.

Accomodation options

Angling lodge

The fishing cabin is fine. It accommodates 4-5 people; one bedroom with two beds and a sleeping loft where 2-3 persons can sleep on mattresses. On the terrace there is a gas grill and in the house, a gas stove. Anglers may arrive at the fishing cabin at 20:00 p.m. the day before fishing and must clean it before 19 pm on the day of departure. People are asked to take all rubbish with them from the cabin.

The area is just over 4 km in length with 24 named fishing spots
