The river Minnivallarlækur is in Landsveit, not far from the town Hella. There are few places similar in the world. The crystal clear and fertile spring water provides a setting for some of the best trout habitat in Iceland. The location of the stream means that the water temperature is very stable and the conductivity and the fertility is high. These conditions create ideal habitat for insect life and for brown trout. There are few places in the world where anglers can hook ten-pound trout on tiny dry flies, in sizes 18 and even smaller.
