What can be fished

Description

Villingavatnsárós is one of the most amazing trout areas in Þingvallavatn. As the name implies, river Villingavatnsá has an estuary in the area and the brown trout goes up to the estuary in search of food. The area can provide incredible fishing and there is a lot of big fish. One of the advantages of the area is that the fish stays there until the summer, but does not disappear into the depths, as is common in other areas by Þingvallavatn. This makes it possible to catch these magnificent fish on small nymphs and dry flies in early June.
