What can be fished

Description

It is safe to say that Tungulækur is one of the best if not the best sea trout fishing in the country. It is about 10 km long, but is not all fishable. This magnificent stream flows through a magical lava field and out into Skaftá. About 2000 – 3000 sea trout have been caught there every year and often these are the biggest sea trout catches in Iceland every summer. The sea trout fishing is mainly in the spring and then again in the autumn, but during the summer sea-run char and some salmon migrate into the river.
