Description
The Voli area has resident brown trout and char, sea trout, sea-run char, salmon and even an occasional eel. There is the opportunity for excellent trout fishing from spring until the end of autumn. Fishing licenses are sold to the public and only 2 rods are allowed each day throughout the season. There is a fishing map of the area with good road markings and farm names as well as marked fishing spots. The area is in the vicinity of Selfoss, or within 10 min. drive, whether you go to the upper part of the area (fishing cabin) or to the lower fishing boundary, which is the old bridge at Bár.
Accommodation & Facilities
Fishing cabin
There is a fishing cabin in the area that stands by the old bridge at Vola. It has accommodation for 4-6 people, running water, toilet, electric light (solar power), gas heating, gas hobs and a charcoal grill, etc. Anglers must evacuate the house before 7:00 pm in the evening, at the day of departure, to give a new group time to get ready before the fishing starts at 8:00 pm. Anglers should clean the house thoroughly before leaving and remove all rubbish. The fishing cabin is included in the price of the fishing permits.
Fishing rules
It is permitted to take 3 fish per rod each day, but all fish over 65 cm must be released. All sea trout must be released after October 10th. A fishing book is in the lodge and is also in a mailbox by the bridge at Þingborg. Anglers are required to record all catches. The two rods in the area are always sold together.
Directions
With Bitrulækur, the fishing area is about 12 – 14 km. It reaches from the bridge by Þingborg to the old bridge by Bár.

Schedule
From 7 am – 10 pm. The fishing license is valid from 8 pm – 10 pm the night before the fishing day and from 07 am – 7 pm on the fishing day.
