The fishing season in Iceland starts on April 1st and many anglers are getting excited. It is mainly sea trout rivers that open and few well-known brown trout areas, and the sale of fishing licenses has been acceptable. Also, fishing begins in many lakes. However, the weather could spoil the joy of fishing for some, as there is a lot of snow in many places and thick ice on rivers and lakes. Fortunately, warmer temperatures are expected in some parts of the country.
Fishing starts in April at a number of interesting fishing areas, below is a list of some of them. The enumeration starts in the west and goes around the country, ending in the south part of it:
