Currently, it appears that salmon fishing in most rivers across the country is not meeting the expectations of most anglers. Only a handful of rivers have reported satisfactory or improved fishing compared to last year. This is particularly true for the rivers Jökla and Sélá. Nevertheless, many anglers are still optimistic that salmon fishing will improve.
Some prefer to fish for brown trout or Arctic char instead. There are numerous fishing options available in every region of the country to cater to all types of anglers.
